With our first-ever Fantasy Sumo live auction draft coming up, I’ve put together a short presentation explaining exactly how the draft will work, how rosters are structured, and what to expect on draft night.
If you’ve never done an auction draft before, don’t worry. The system is straightforward once you see it in action, and the slideshow walks through everything step by step, including:
- How nominations and bidding work
- How your ¥250 draft budget is used
- Roster structure (4 active rikishi + 1 reserve)
- Free agents and roster moves after the draft
- What happens when a rikishi goes kyujo
The goal is simple: make sure everyone shows up ready, confident, and prepared to spend irresponsibly on their favourite rikishi.
